The rebate program for sustainable heating has been launched by Germany

Germany has launched a new program for sustainable heating to support households in changing their heating and cooling system and install heat pumps. The program covers up to 40% of the costs to buy and deploy heat pumps, with a basic subsidy rate of 25%.

From 2028 only heat pumps that use natural refrigerants will be funded by the program, although the government is still negotiating about a new regulation that could include partially fluorinated hydrocarbons. Hence, depending on the outcomes, there might be still changes in the promotion of heat pumps with propane.
