Second call for local energy planners for the Act!onHeat Support Facility

The Act!onHeat Project has opened its second European-wide Call for Application to all local energy planners interested in receiving strategic support to establish or improve upon their Heating&Cooling infrastructure.
Editorial Team

Act!onHeat’s aim is to accelerate the use of strategic Heating and Cooling (H&C) planning in cities and regions throughout Europe. As H&C still depend on fossil fuels (75%) and accounts for about half of Europe’s total energy needs, relevant changes are needed to reach the 2050 goals.

Actions must be taken at the local level, involving a variety of stakeholders. But strategic planning requires know-how, resources and experience, and not all municipalities are equally prepared for an energy transition. This is where the new Support Facility comes in, with specific tools and assistance for municipalities to start, complete, or improve upon their district H&C planning.

Requirements for applicants

Applicants will be selected based on their ambition, interest, and needs. Once the relationship is established, clustered and individual advice will be given on planning, pre-feasibility and finance. Specifically, applicants will gain exclusive access and insight to the H&C planning software Hotmaps and THERMOS, which can be used for their local energy transition.

The Call for Application is open until 31 December 2022 via EUSurvey. Check all the information on Act!onHeat; you can alternatively fill in the Expression of Interest form with basic details and, if there’s an initial match, you’ll be informed of the following application steps.
