Smart buildings need smart minds: Join the NSBI Community!
Smart buildings are a widely discussed topic, especially today, as automation has advanced even further. However, despite the relevance of this term, many unresolved questions remain—how to enhance the performance of smart buildings, assess their level of intelligence, understand their interaction with occupants, diagnose faults automatically, manage data efficiently, and determine whether they are truly beneficial and sustainable.
Due to these considerations, the Nordic Smart Building Initiative (NSBI), a multinational research and development platform focused on advancing data-driven building automation, aims to establish and coordinate a collaborative forum to discuss issues related to smart buildings in the Nordic countries.
This initiative will be open to researchers, academics, engineers, consultants, professionals, and other stakeholders in smart construction from Northern European countries, including Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. However, participation in working groups and discussions is not limited to individuals from these countries, although the focus will be exclusively on a Nordic context.
The project, which currently has 40 active participants from 27 institutions and companies across 13 countries, aims to disseminate new knowledge through webinars, workshops, scientific articles, and technical reports, supporting both the research community and the construction industry.
