While residential retrofitting due is a priority due to its impact on personal comfort and finances, the article urges to consider non-domestic properties. Retrofitting these buildings can result in substantial energy and cost savings.

The UK has taken initial steps through the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) and Building Safety Act, with further regulations planned: a minimum EPC rating of C by 2027 and B by 2030 for commercial properties could become mandatory.
