Tallinn has become the European Green Capital

After the French city of Grenoble, the Estonian capital, Tallinn, has become the European Green Capital for 2023.

 

The recognition has been gained thanks to the city´s commitment to green governance and the strategic goals reflecting the European Green Deal. In particular, the city has adopted an ambitious development strategy which addresses, among others, carbon neutrality, climate adaptation, innovation, health, circular economy, sustainable energy.

 

The call for applications for the next cycle of awards – EU Green Capital and Green Leaf Awards 2025 -  has just been announced, with the deadline of 30 April 2023
