Tulane University's School of Architecture has established the Center on Climate Change and Urbanism (CCU) to address climate change through the built environment

Key initiatives include the Tulane Prize for Climate Change Curriculum, which recognises innovative course development related to climate change in the built environment. Nominations for the prize are open until January 31, 2025, with awards of $10,000 for selected winners.

The CCU also launched climatesyllabus.org, a repository for climate-related syllabi. Additionally, the centre supports research and public programming focused on the Gulf Coast, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and fosters interdisciplinary climate change solutions.

Notable projects include 'Carbon Budget Zero,' which explores low-carbon housing in various U.S. regions. The CCU aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration on climate change solutions.
