UIPI´s feedback on new adopted EPBD by the European Parliament

How will the recently adopted EPBD by the European Parliament influence the EU building stock? UIPI share their view.

UIPI applauds the final outcome and reaffirms support for a practical solution, emphasising clear goals and flexibility. Advocating for improvements in average building stock over individual buildings, the voluntary minimum energy standards for residential buildings have been established. The vote, reflecting significant support but also acknowledging public concerns, underscores the need for cautious progress. 

Targets set for Member States include reducing residential energy use and renovating the worst-performing buildings. Emmanuelle Causse highlights the importance of meticulous implementation, emphasising technical solutions and financial support. Pending approval by the Council in April, the Directive will soon take effect, requiring Member States' adherence to achieve the set objectives.
