In late July, UNDP experts visited Ternopil Oblast to assess 11 public buildings under the Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Ukraine programme, funded by the European Investment Bank and Eastern European Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) Fund.

They inspected six hospitals, a gymnasium, and kindergartens across five communities, offering recommendations to enhance energy efficiency. The programme focuses on modernising public buildings through measures like insulation and energy-efficient windows, with energy efficiency constituting about 50% of the upgrades.

Additional funding supports construction of shelters and accessibility improvements.
