Over the past six years, Medjimurje County in Croatia refurbished 22 public buildings with substantial investment, primarily funded by the EU and national sources.
In 2023, renewable energy systems were installed in four schools, replacing older heating and electricity systems with efficient heat pumps and solar panels.
This upgrade, costing around €540,000, significantly reduced energy use and costs, benefiting 250 students.
The improvements align with Medjimurje’s Energy Efficiency Action Plan, and additional projects are in development to further enhance the region’s sustainability and energy efficiency.
