Expert Talk - Gerald Wagenhofer

Daniel Aragón
"In the situation we have now, there is a lack of skilled workers specially in the construction sector. The case of the heritage sector is another aspect important here because we are needing traditional skills, because traditional buildings need traditional skills to be protected and kept in shape for the future. When we lose these traditional skills, we also lose the ability to keep those buildings in shape". Gerald Wagenhofer, Manager Director at UBW.

EXPERT TALKS series is an initiative from the BUILD UP portal. In the form of face-to-face interviews, experts from all around Europe covering the field of Energy Efficiency in buildings from different perspectives share their views, experience and expertise with BUILD UP audience. The interviews address relevant topics linked to the Topic of the Month.

This month we will be discussing about "Boosting demand for skilled workers in the building sector" with Gerald Wagenhofer, Manager Director at UBW.

During the interview, Wagenhofer answers questions about the key skills a qualified worker of cultural heritage must have or the main differences across Europe and also resolves the question of whether we have a sufficient workforce to improve the energy efficiency of heritage buildings in the EU.
