Expert Talk: Martin Pehnt
This month we will be delving into 'National Building Renovation Plans (NBRPs)' with Martin Pehnt, Managing Director, Institut für Energie- and Umweltforschung (IFEU), Germany.
In this BUILD UP Expert Talk, Pehnt, who helped to create Germany's heat passport in the 90s and the federal individual renovation roadmap, discusses how that early work has shaped today's concept of a digital Renovation Passport in the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). He also detailed three decisive ingredients for turning a merely compliant plan into a transformational NBRP, and explained his view about the synergy and overlap between Renovation Passports, upgraded Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) and the coming Zero-Emission Building Performance level, among other highlights.
The BUILD UP Expert Talks series is an initiative of the BUILD UP portal and features face-to-face interviews with experts from across Europe, offering diverse perspectives on key topics related to energy efficiency and renewable energy in buildings. These interviews are aligned with the Topic of the Month and delve into it, providing valuable insights, experiences, and expertise to the BUILD UP audience.
