Germany's Deutsche Bahn has unveiled its second sustainable railway station in Munich's Haar district, constructed from locally sourced wood. The eco-friendly design includes LED lighting, a heat pump for efficient heating and cooling, and natural ventilation. Plans include the installation of solar panels

The station, costing 1.6 million euros, is designed for recyclability, aligning with circular construction goals set by Haar's mayor.

Deutsche Bahn aims to use standardised modules to rapidly and sustainably build similar structures in the future. This initiative underscores the shift towards greener building practices amid global calls for reducing the construction industry's carbon footprint.
