Digital solutions promoting sustainability and education in Croatia

REA North aims at developing digitalisation to help citizens and other stakeholders in their projects by teaching them the benefits of sustainability, energy efficiency, and other green technologies.

60%-70% of energy consumption in buildings refers to households. Hence, the Regional Energy Agency (REA) North is willing to make Croatian citizens and stakeholders more aware about concepts such as sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources (RES), and thus contributing to achieve carbon neutral goals by 2050. To do so, REA North believes that digitalisation is key because it can help citizens better understand financial and technical solutions and facilitate the decision-making.

The "Green Aura" project is focused on augmented reality (AR) technology which is used to teach citizens about those concepts while visiting different locations.

Moreover, to help citizens to invest on PV systems for their houses, REA North has developed a map of solar potential. Through this platform citizens can receive a rough calculation of the power plant´s recommended power, investments costs, energy savings, CO2 emissions, and profitability of investing in PV.
