The Sirius project exemplifies this effort, targeting a 90% emission reduction, 80% heating consumption cut, and a 20% increase in renewable energy use.

Despite some challenges, the initiative introduces potential cost savings for citizens through local energy production. Marseille plans to institutionalise and expand energy communities, integrating renewables into the urban landscape and involving more local companies for a self-sustaining energy ecosystem.
