The European Patent Office (EPO) in Vienna's historic center is undergoing a comprehensive renovation aimed at both aesthetic enhancement and environmental sustainability. The new design emphasises transparency and openness with extensive use of glass, aiming to integrate visually with Vienna's architectural heritage.

Environmentally, the project focuses on energy efficiency and sustainability, using ECOPact low-carbon concrete with ECOCycle® technology to reduce construction emissions. Upon completion, the renovated building is expected to exceed its energy needs through geothermal and photovoltaic systems, aiming for BREEAM 'Outstanding' certification.

This initiative exemplifies modern sustainable practices in retrofitting existing structures amid Europe's push towards net-zero emissions by 2050.
