Our cultural heritage, comprising tangible and intangible treasures, holds the key to creativity, well-being and identity. However, the diverse nature of historic buildings necessitates tailored renovation strategies, demanding a balance between energy efficiency and preservation. 

With this in mind, the EU-funded INHERIT project harnesses cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of things, AI and big data analytics. It promotes sustainability, inclusiveness and resource efficiency throughout the life cycle of heritage buildings. With testing at eight European sites, INHERIT aims to make socially innovative and economically viable interventions, bolstered by a capacity-building programme and policy recommendations, ensuring our cultural heritage thrives in the modern age. The project will develop a systematic methodology.
