The Athens_Wave project aims to implement a set of interventions in the city of Athens to save significant amounts of primary energy. These actions will be carried out prioritising sustainability and energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption and contributing to meeting not only local and national, but also European targets.

In addition, it also aims to reduce air pollution in the Greek city, thus reducing the environmental footprint. Increasing energy efficiency is another major objective, and to this end, a higher level of private investment will be sought and an organisational structure will be set up to ensure the viability and supervision of the project.
