Energy cooperatives and energy communities can play an important role in the clean energy transition and renewable energy deployment. An innovative electricity provider in France, Enercoop, is supported by a network of cooperatives and develops local-oriented, renewable energy projects with direct citizen involvement.

The Enercoop Production Bootstrap project (ENERPROD) aims to provide technical assistance to Local Enercoops and accelerate the deployment of citizen-led renewable energy projects by mutualising tools (sales models, processes, contract frameworks, funding, etc.) which will benefit all Enercoop projects and by providing additional operational assistance to the projects.
