Research infraestructure for advanced studies on radon in buildings
The Smart Living Lab building aims to provide not only a high-quality workspace but also a research infrastructure meant as a true living and scalable laboratory that deploys cutting-edge environmental technologies. To ensure the innovative research vocation of the building, researchers from the Smart Living Lab took part in a consultation in 2020.
The research requirements that needed to be met during the design and construction phases were defined during this process. Radon risk management and monitoring were identified as an important research topic for the Smart Living Lab.
Since 2020 and throughout 2021, CroqAIR (Center for indoor air quality and radon), the TRANSFORM Institute of HEIA-FR and the company ECONS SA jointly defined the corresponding technical requirements and specifications for the call for tenders. The team will continue to work on an implementation plan during the construction phase.
Start date: 2020 - End date: 2024
