The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) 2024 Impact Report highlights the achievements of the LEED certification system over the past three decades, showing its role in promoting sustainable, resilient buildings worldwide. 

LEED projects have saved over 120 million metric tons of CO2 and cover 29 billion square feet globally. With over 195,000 projects in 186 countries, including 5,000 certified schools and 330 LEED-certified cities, LEED has become a global standard for sustainable design

USGBC’s efforts in education, professional development, and innovation continue to drive the green building movement, with future goals focused on accelerating decarbonisation and equity.
