Editorial Team

This study has been supported by the Renovate Europe campaign, and it investigates how EU member states are planning to use cohesion policy funding to support renovation and draws attention to key action points, such as:

  • leveraging private finance while targeting grants to vulnerable consumers
  • carefully coordinating cohesion financing with other EU public funds
  • monitoring programme implementations

For the period 2021-2027 member states have programmed a 20 billion cohesion policy funding for energy renovation and energy efficiency measures. Together with the investments under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), there is great opportunity of EU fuding available for building renovation.
