Addressing the skills gap in the engineering sector
ENGINEERS 4 EUROPE, representing 6 million engineers from 33 countries, has unveiled the European Engineering Skills Strategy, a key initiative under the 'Engineers for Europe (E4E)' Erasmus+ project. The strategy addresses Europe’s engineering skills gap through extensive research, including surveys with 7,757 responses. It highlights the critical need for holistic skills development, integrating technical and non-technical expertise to meet green and digital transition demands.
The document offers actionable recommendations for education, industry, and policymakers and features 15 best practices.
The European Engineering Skills Council will oversee implementation. Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the draft by August 2025.
