Several European-funded project focus on increasing the efficiency of heating and cooling in buildings. A new article published on Horizon, The EU Research & Innovation Magazine, explores how two projects are making heat pumps more efficient and raising awareness about their benefits.

HAPPENING is installing heat pumps in buildings and demonstrating their benefits to occupants. The project already installed heat pumps in Italy, and more demos are planned in Spain and Austria.

TRI-HP aims to develop cost-effective dual-sourcing heat-pump systems using both air and ground sources, as well as solar thermal collectors.
