New Dutch report on the energy performance of buildings methodology
Strategic report commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior proposing a simpler, more accurate energy performance methodology aligned with real use and EPBD-IV requirements. Implementation is planned for 2030.
The Dutch government has released a new advisory report that explores future-proof pathways for improving the methodology used to assess the energy performance of buildings in the Netherlands. This strategic document (available in Dutch) is expected to influence national policy decisions and technical frameworks in the context of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) implementation.
Commissioned by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), the report was developed by a consortium of Dutch stakeholders and guides how to improve and align the Dutch energy performance calculation methodology with emerging EU requirements and practical experiences in implementation.
This publication provides valuable insights for Member States seeking to modernise their energy performance calculation frameworks and better connect them with other building-related instruments such as renovation passports, smart readiness indicators, and digital building logbooks.
