The WEDISTRICT project has developed a brochure illustrating and describing the retrofitting solutions that have been made to an old district heating system at University Polithenica of Bucharest.

The old district heating network was operated by a gas cogeneration plant and it has now been retrofitted into a renewable system. In particular, the building is a research laboratory which is located at the end of one branch of the heating network.

The project has proposed the integration of a hybrid system based on geothermal energy with heat pumps and solar energy. This system has made possible both the heating and cooling of the building and network.
