ASHRAE 90.1 ECB: the app that simplifies efficiency

The ASHRAE 90.1 ECB app allows for quick checking whether a building complies with the 90.1-2010 energy standard. It simplifies calculations, exports results, and speeds up design decisions. A practical tool to accelerate validation and transparency in efficient projects.

The ASHRAE 90.1 ECB app is a free web application that facilitates the calculation of a project’s compliance with the ASHRAE/IES 90.1-2010 standard, using the Energy Cost Budget (ECB) method.

Basically, the user enters the building design parameters (envelope, systems, expected consumption) and the tool evaluates whether the proposal meets the standard’s requirements, without the need to build spreadsheets from scratch. The result can be exported to Excel to document the analysis or share it with clients and teams.

The application is available from any device (computer, tablet, etc.), once an account has been created, allowing projects to be stored and compared with ease.

This tool simplifies technical validation against a demanding standard, reduces methodological barriers, and promotes transparency in energy compliance. It does not replace expert judgement, but it can accelerate design and review stages, particularly in contexts where regulation requires compliance with 90.1 or similar standards.
