The 16th Citizens’ Energy Forum will be held in 2024 with the theme 'Towards a Citizens Energy Package: empowering citizens for a just energy transition.' This event marks the start of work on the Citizens Energy Package, which aims to boost citizen participation in the energy transition and strengthen the social aspects of the Energy Union.

Organised by the European Commission and the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, the forum will bring together stakeholders from NGOs, cities, energy communities, consumer associations, and businesses to discuss challenges and solutions for empowering citizens in the energy transition

The forum will be live-streamed, with the online audience able to engage in the discussions. The working language is English, and active participation is encouraged from national, regional, and local stakeholders.
