The European Week of Regions and Cities 2025 will spotlight the role of sustainable infrastructure in shaping resilient urban environments. Held in Brussels from 13 to 15 October, the event will convene regional leaders and experts to discuss how buildings and public spaces can support climate adaptation and inclusive growth.
The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) will present several EU-funded projects that explore nature-based solutions within the built environment. Initiatives such as LAND4CLIMATE and RESIST demonstrate how architecture and urban planning can integrate green technologies to mitigate environmental risks and enhance community wellbeing. These projects will be featured in dedicated workshops and exhibitions throughout the week.
The event will also showcase collaborative efforts between cities and regions to retrofit existing structures and design future-proof buildings. With over 5,000 participants expected, the European Week will serve as a platform for exchanging best practices in sustainable construction, energy efficiency, and urban regeneration.
