The European Heritage Academy is an internationally certified continuing education initiative, which was commissioned by the Burghauptmannschaft Österreich (BHÖ) in cooperation with the Bundesdenkmalamt | Information and further education centre for the preservation of historical monuments in the Charterhouse Mauerbach.

The BHÖ launched the EU project MODI-FY three years ago, in the course of which an internationally certified continuing education course was developed for all occupational groups working on the historic building, which is also based on practical experience.

The Charterhouse Mauerbach as a further education platform for the preservation of monuments serves here as a seminar centre as well as training grounds for practical implementations.

The regular operation of the EUROPEAN HERITAGE ACADEMY started with the first modules in December 2017. 

From 21st to 25th August 2023 The European Heritage Academy proposes the Summer Academy 2023 with a training on "Energy Expert for Cultural Heritage"
