Webinar | The role of MEPS as a key driver for energy renovation

Presential

EuroACE – Energy Efficient Buildings is please to invite you to the upcoming webinar “The role of MEPS as a key driver for energy renovation”, which will take place on Thursday 22nd of September at 9h30 – 11h00. This webinar will address the much-debated introduction of minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) in the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

Speakers will discuss, among others, why other measures have failed to increase the renovation rate and depth in the EU, what are the benefits and impacts that MEPS can have, and how a MEPS framework should look like in the EPBD.

With less than 30 years left until 2050, urgent action is needed to significantly boost the renovation rate and depth to improve the energy performance of buildings in the EU. The benefits of energy renovation are numerous, such as increased independence from Russian fossil fuels, lower energy bills for building users, lower mortgage default risk, healthier and more comfortable indoor environments and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Minimum energy performance standards can provide the necessary forward-looking signal to the full renovation value chain to invest, plan, train, innovate and support an increased ambition on renovation. But this requires the right design, scope, timeframe and support for the roll-out of the MEPS framework.
