Apulia Region in Italy, at the centre of REHOUSE General Assembly

Over 50 delegates took part to Rehouse General Assembly, including REHOUSE project partners from France, Germany, Greece, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary and representatives of the Italian partners involved in the energy requalification of a social building owned by ARCA Capitanata in the municipality of Margherita di Savoia.

The opening day of the sixth General Assembly of the European REHOUSE project took place at the headquarters of Apulia Region, in the presence of Vincenzo Lasorella, Head of the Housing Policies Section of Apulia Region, Stefano Lacatena, Delegate of the President of the Apulia Region for Housing Policies, Luigia Brizzi, Head of the Environment and Territory Department of the Apulia Region and Giuseppe Liscio, CEO of ARCA Capitanata. 

In particular, Stefano Lacatena from Apulia Region, reiterated the concept of the "Rehouse Margherita model" to be replicated as a methodological example on other buildings in the Region, with the use of Community programming 2021-2027 funds. 

The commitment put into practice within the project, to encourage and engage the participation and social role of tenants, was also underlined. The concept of improving the quality of living of the neighborhood by the involvement of all the inhabitants.

On May 21st, the REHOUSE delegation visited the Margherita di Savoia building, welcomed by the residents, by the representatives of Arca Capitanata, owner of the property, and by the mayor Bernardo Lodispoto, who underlined his satisfaction with the choice of the Apulian town as the Italian demonstrator of a highly innovative Horizon Europe project, which allowed 'to bring Europe to the Margherita di Savoia salt pans', the largest in Europe.

During the visit, the participants were able to observe the progress of the work on the facade, with the insulating panels of the Pedone Working company, made of hemp, and the structural consolidation works of the building, which were illustrated respectively by Cosimo Tafuri of R.I. Groop and prof. Giuseppe Santorsiero of the University of Basilicata.

Javier Antolín Gutiérrez, coordinator of REHOUSE, thanked all the experts involved in the activities and Arca Capitanata, in particular the CEO, Giuseppe Liscio and the Manager of the technical area Vincenzo De Devitiis, and highlighted how 'the constant collaboration between tenants, technical designers and local authorities in the energy renovation interventions of public buildings is important for the success of the project'.

ENEA team responsible for the organisation of the two days, Monica Misceo, Vincenza Luprano and Lorenza Daroda , was also thanked by local authorities, project coordinator, and all partners of the project.
