Climate Neutral Building: The city of Malmö is in the efforts of being carbon neutral by 2030
This short film explores the efforts of the Malmö City in being carbon neutral by 2030 to fight climate change.
Titled Climate Neutral Building, the 7-min video takes a look at the Malmö City's efforts in larger scale on how the city's energy system is being developed to be 100 per cent renewable and how the construction and property sectors are mobilising to meet the challenge.
Produced by the City of Malmö, the short films, based on different themes, are released as part of the upcoming ICLEI World Congress 2021 - 2022, hosted by ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability and the City of Malmö, Sweden.
The 7-minute film, moderated by Trevor Graham, Sustainability Consultant at UrbanIsland, emphasizes the city's sustainability efforts and showcases concrete examples of how a 100 per cent renewable city can be designed, built and managed with all internal operations.
The energy system integrated into the infrastructure, the latest and smart technologies, solar panels on the roofs of neighborhoods, wind power and many invisible energy infrastructures are the key elements that underline how the city has reached 100 percent of its renewable city target by 2020.
