Deadline extension for European-wide Support Facility for local energy planners

30 May 2022
Editorial Team

The Call for Applicants for European-wide Support Facility has now been extended. Apply by 15 June 2022.

Did you know that heating and cooling accounts for about half of Europe’s total energy needs, with 75% still dependent on fossil fuels? To dramatically decrease this dependency on fossil fuels and increase the share of renewable energy in European homes, action must be taken at the local level, involving a variety of stakeholders.

However, as strategic heating and cooling (H&C) planning requires know-how, resources and experience, not all municipalities are equally prepared for this transition. This is where the Act!onHeat Support Facility comes in, with free individual advice for municipalities to start, complete, or improve upon their district H&C planning.

Specifically, applicants will gain exclusive access and insight to the well-established H&C planning software Hotmaps and THERMOS.

All local energy planners interested in strategic H&C planing are welcome to apply. The Call for Applicants will remain open until 15 June 2022 via EUSurvey.

Interested in applying, but don't have time to complete the full application? We have a solution for you! Simply fill in the Expression of Interest form with basic details and, if we see an initial match, we will get back to you on the next application steps.

The individual support is possible due to funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 Programme, which funds the Act!onHeat Support Facility and funded the development of Hotmaps and THERMOS.
