The demonstration buildings of the SATO project are both residential and office buildings located in three European countries: in Aalborg (DK), Milan (IT), and Seixal (PT), covering cold, intermediate, and warm climates. EDP NEW is the responsible partner for the demo activities in Seixal. They have installed 48 residential units in which several equipment have been installed: HVAC systems, energy meters, smart plugs, platform gateways, and sensors for humidity, temperature, and CO2.
They were developed as part of an innovative service from EDP Comercial, which allows residential consumers to manage all the energy in their home in real time, to reduce costs and thus to optimise energy usage.
Residential users were also asked to evaluate the SATO platform, after testing the online platform where they will check their energy consumption data and recommendations to improve their energy efficiency.
