EBC President Philip Van Nieuwenhuizen took the stage to champion the cause of construction SMEs and the Construction 2050 Alliance. He stressed the need for a stable regulatory framework and fair competition to help these small businesses thrive. The event also saw discussions on the sector's resilience amidst challenges like high inflation and skills shortages.

The forum was a call to action. Attendees talked about simplifying legislation, boosting digitalisation, and promoting the circular economy. They also highlighted the importance of attracting a diverse workforce, including more women, to fill the skills gap. The day wrapped up with a focus on practical solutions like speeding up building permits and improving the market for secondary construction materials.
