EU requires disclosure of global warming potential for buildings

Energy performance certificates will soon require Global Warming Potential calculations, which will be based on specific indicators outlined in Level(s).

The revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) mandates disclosing the global warming potential (GWP) of new buildings on energy performance certificates (EPC).

Calculations will use indicators from Level(s), the EU's framework for sustainable and circular buildings.

This shift aims to assess the lifecycle GWP of new constructions, advancing towards a circular built environment and understanding the sector's impact on climate change.
