Summer is approaching, but despite warmer temperatures (and less need to heat homes), energy poverty remains a challenge for many households. Cities and other energy stakeholders must therefore continue to explore how to tackle energy poverty at the local level. The good news is that much knowledge and expertise already exists, is ready to be replicated, and pairs energy poverty alleviation with a switch to renewable energy sources.

A new and varied capacity building programme will include webinars; technical visits to demonstration sites in France, Spain, Italy or Portugal; access to materials to raise public awareness and knowledge; and support integrating innovative schemes into cities’ Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans. The programme will include a combination of online and on-site capacity building activities, and material will be available in English, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

The programme – designed and executed by the Sun4All project is ideal for representatives of local and regional governments, public and private utilities, energy agencies, civil society organisations, social housing associations, energy cooperatives, energy agencies, energy service companies (ESCOs), and other energy stakeholders.
