LIFE projects help to reduce energy poverty in vulnerable communities
Two LIFE Clean Energy Transition (CET) projects, RENOVERTY and EP-0, are fighting energy poverty affecting an estimated 40 million people in the EU during harsh winters. RENOVERTY provides roadmaps for retrofitting single and multi-family dwellings in rural areas, addressing financial, logistical, and legal barriers. With seven pilot projects across Europe, it supports over 100 households, aiming to replicate results in over 1,000 homes.
EP-0 focuses on enhancing energy efficiency in vulnerable districts across Italy, France, and the Netherlands, using an 'EnergieSprong' approach. Expected to permanently lift households out of energy poverty, these projects align with EU directives and contribute to the European Green Deal.
