LIFE projects to revolutionise sustainable cooling

A number of innovative LIFE projects are seeking ways to make our cooling systems more sustainable.

Several innovative LIFE projects are reshaping the cooling of our built environment with sustainable solutions.

COOLING DOWN aims to redefine the cooling sector by incorporating renewable cooling methods to decarbonise buildings as a response to the increasing demand for cooling. The project integrates renewable energy sources like geothermal and solar thermal into cooling systems, offering efficient and eco-friendly solutions.

CoolLIFE is developing open-source tools and knowledge hubs to promote sustainable cooling choices in decision-making and planning for both public and private entities.

LIFE SUPERHERO focuses on passive cooling methods like ventilated and permeable roofs to reduce energy consumption and urban heat island effects.

These projects are driving a shift towards sustainable cooling practices in European urban areas, fostering a greener and more resilient future.
