In July and August, METROPOLIS hosted the Circular Future Hackathon, gathering industry visionaries to explore circular design principles for construction. Inspired by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s framework, participants from global firms, manufacturers, and organisations addressed challenges in sustainable building, focusing on waste reduction, material life cycles, and regenerative design

The event featured virtual workshops, dividing participants into seven groups tackling issues such as eliminating waste, rethinking ownership, and recovering resources. These teams developed transformative ideas for product ecosystems, building leasing, and professional skills to support a circular economy, which METROPOLIS later expanded into comprehensive solutions.
