Reducing microplastic impact in construction

Microplastics, harmful to health and the environment, are heavily generated by the construction industry, which must adopt better practices to reduce their impact.
Luca Papapietro

The construction industry is a major contributor to microplastic pollution due to extensive use of plastic materials in building projects. These particles can cause health issues like immunotoxicity and reproductive harm.

With increasing regulatory attention, the construction sector must reduce plastic use, explore alternatives, and adopt better practices to minimise microplastic generation and exposure.
