Renovation of Energy Insitute Hrvoje Požar to achieve nZEB standards
The Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP) is embarking on a renovation project to achieve nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) standards, supported by a EUR 1.6 million grant from the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism. The renovation, divided into two phases, includes implementing an energy-efficient lighting system, on-site photovoltaic panels covering 30% of energy consumption, and digitalised technical systems.
The first phase is expected to reduce energy costs by 65%. In the second phase, a water-to-water heat pump will be installed, aiming to generate most of the institute's energy on-site. The project serves as a model for decarbonisation in the building sector and establishes a national training centre for green and digital transition.
