The role of research to make homes energy efficient
Dr Monica Ardeleanu together with EU-funded SMARTER project are on a mission to make houses greener by convincing homeowners, banks and developers.

The EU-funded SMARTER project, including Dr Monica Ardelenau (Romania Green Building Council) with other 17 partners, is on a mission to make housing greener and more efficient. They want to revolutionise the housing market by convincing homeowners, banks and developers that the adoption of green solutions is essential both for environmental and economic aspects.
The Romania Green Building Council is playing a main role in this transition with over 30,000 apartment units worth over €8.5billion are under construction or have been completed. Romania, Poland and Ireland are the countries in the EU with highest concentration of green houses.
