The Slovenian government has adopted a EUR 34 million action plan for 2024-2026 to fight energy poverty, aiming to reduce the share of energy-poor households from 7.2% to 3.8-4.6%. Focused on energy efficiency, the plan targets 8,000 homes with investments in renewables and energy-saving measures.

The State agency Eco Fund will implement the measures, including issuing a EUR 5 million public call for energy-poor households, offering incentives of up to EUR 18,000 for actions like thermal insulation and efficient heating.

The plan, crucial for a just transition to a low-carbon society, receives funding from Slovenia's Climate Change Fund and the European Fund for Regional Development.
