Subsidies extension for energy renovation in Serbian residential buildings
The Public ESCO project, a collaboration between the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), is allocating energy efficiency subsidies in 16 cities across the Western Balkans.
Aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in residential buildings connected to district heating systems, the program allows owners in the most energy-inefficient buildings to cover 50% of investments in external wall insulation and billing equipment. Repayment occurs through monthly installments in heating bills.
Bojan Bogdanović, Principal Fund Manager of the EBRD's Renewable District Energy fund, revealed significant interest from housing communities. The program, worth EUR 64.5 million, targets over 500 renovated residential buildings.
