The Sugar Factory estate in Prague has already seen the construction of its initial buildings using Rebetong concrete.
This innovative material, developed by Skanska with EU support, aims to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency in construction. Designed by CHYBIK + KRISTOF, the estate will house 790 apartments powered by solar energy and using recycled water.
Despite challenges like slow hardening in cold weather and sourcing high-quality rubble, Rebetong promises to be a significant step towards sustainable building practices in Europe.
