The UK government is investing over £557 million to support businesses and public buildings in decarbonising and cutting energy costs. Through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, £530 million will fund energy efficiency upgrades, while the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund allocates £27.5 million to industrial operations.

Local authorities and government bodies are receiving significant grants for projects like installing heat pumps and improving insulation
However, challenges arise from the UK's old building stock and strict preservation regulations, complicating the adoption of modern energy-saving technologies.

A 2023 report by Neos Networks underscores the urgency to accelerate CO2 emissions reduction in public buildings to meet net-zero goals, with 91% needing upgrades in seven years.
