On May 5th BUILD UP had the pleasure of hosting the COGITO project with a webinar entitled "Digital tools for Health & Safety on the construction site". The webinar was the 2nd of the ongoing COGITO webinar series on “Practical Tools for the Construction Sector in Digital Twin”. The aim of the series is to present the COGITO Digital Construction 4.0 tool-box and to gather important feedback from the audience.

COGITO targets a semantic and pragmatic alignment between novel data capture techniques and delivery of value-adding end-user services leveraging the power of near-real-time data for the timely detection of health and safety hazards to humans, construction quality defects in addition to an up-to-date workflow management. The purpose is to minimise construction project time and cost overruns and to reduce workplace accidents.

The May 5th webinar began with a brief introduction from BUILD UP, followed by an overview of the COGITO project from Dr Giorgos Giannakis, Project Manager at HYPERTECH. Dr Giannakis presented the COGITO project objectives and recent results, in addition to a summary of the COGITO tools. The presentation was followed by a brief Q&A with questions from the audience.

Before the second presentation, the audience took part in a brief interactive poll, afterwhich the webinar moved to the second and final presentation of the webinar, Jochen Teizer, Professor, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark, who discussed Digital tools for Health and Safety. The second presentation was also followed by a brief Q&A and a second interactive poll before a quick wrap up from BUILD UP.

The next webinar of the COGITO series, “Digital Tools for workflow management”, will once again be hosted by BUILD UP and will be held on Thursday May 25th at 11.00 CET.
