How can the Pay-for-Performance (P4P) model contribute to increasing energy efficiency rates and investments in the European Union? Will energy savings be seen as a resource? How will the implementation of energy retrofitting projects positively impact different groups of stakeholders? These and other topics were discussed on this series of Capacity Building Events, which were organised by SENSEI Consortium in these months. The first session took place the 20th June. Watch it here.

The workshops specifically focus on national dimensions and address the needs and the points of view of certain categories of stakeholders; however, they are open to everyone interested in learning more on energy efficiency schemes and the pay-for-performance (P4P) model.

The first workshop especially addresses building owners and was held in Spanish.

Improving the energy efficiency rate of building stocks is important as a way to counteract CO2 emissions, but also to meet the increasing need on the part of citizens to improve the quality of their residential buildings in terms of lighting and thermal comfort.

However, building owners often find difficulties in implementing energy efficiency projects on their own. P4P models will allow them to engage in retrofitting interventions by aggregating multiple energy efficiency projects, thus minimising administrative burdens and, at the same time, attracting external forms of investment and financing.

This Capacity Building workshop addresses the abovementioned topics by presenting SENSEI P4P model, providing an overview of current and new financial models, and introducing EN-TRACK as a tool to support energy efficiency aggregators. A link is established between SENSEI project and the EN-TRACK platform, with the latter supporting an increase in energy efficiency investments in the European building stock.

The workshop, in fact, aims at emphasizing the advantages stemming from the implementation of such schemes for building owners and residential customers.
