Editorial Team
Henning Larsen and Ramboll's design for the B777 building at CERN blends science with sustainability, featuring biogenic materials and low-carbon methods. Its circular design fosters connectivity with nature, housing offices, labs, and workshops with wooden walls that open to the environment.
The building design focuses on reducing carbon emissions both during construction and throughout its lifecycle. Structural materials are selected for reuse and recycling, featuring simple connections for easy disassembly. Its facade maximises natural light and views while self-darkening to minimise solar radiation, reducing the need for cooling energy.
